In case your dog is not socialized with other dogs, for its own mental health, it is best to book the first or last appointment of the day whenever feasable. Dogs are creatures of routine. Until professional grooming becomes part of their routine and they build a trusting relationship with their caregiver, the process can be stressful. So, as much as we can, it’s best not to burden it with further stressful situations, such as the presence of other dogs in the area.

We fill out the first visit form as accurately as we can. The more information you give us about your dog’s health status, the better we will be able to work with it. For example, a common effect of aging in large dogs is hip dysplasia. If the groomer is aware of the condition, they will handle the dog in a specific manner to prevent much of the potential pain that may be caused during grooming.

If we have a female dog that is not sterilized, it is not advisable to groom her during the days when there is bleeding. The process is unpleasant for our dog and the grooming tools deteriorate more quickly due to the humidity.

Soula does not undertake care for pregnant dogs without the written and signed consent of the owner! The potential stress that can occur during grooming can cause complications, even miscarriage. It is best to groom your dog before pregnancy, or shortly after giving birth.

Soula does not shave breeds for which only de-shedding is recommended. There are many potential unpleasant outcomes that we want to avoid, in accordance with animal welfare regulations.
